Visiting scientist and visiting professor at the Johnson Foundation/University of Pennsylvania, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, the Gulbenkian Foundation in Lissabon and the Cefobi in Rosario/Argentina. Associate Professor of Biophysical Chemistry at the Technical University of Berlin (1973-1978), Full Professor and Head of the Department of Biophysics at the University of Osnabrück (1979-2007). Research on photosynthesis, molecular bioenergetics, and membrane biology. Past-member of the IUPAB board, -president of The International Society of Photosynthesis Research, -trustee of the Volkswagen Foundation.
