Pumpkin Day
The diversity of pumpkins, tubers and more

Friday, October 17, 2025
Start: 4 pm
Location: Botanical Garden, meeting point at the lime tree
When summer draws to a close, the plants are laden with fruit and the autumn leaves begin to change colour, plants reveal special characteristics when viewed closely. Monk's pepper (Vitex agnus-castus) lives up to its name as a pungent spice, while lemon verbena (Aloysia triphylla) clings to summer with its fruity scent. As the leaves fall, trees reveal further characteristics: there are rare bark patterns to marvel at. Join us on our search for clues!
You will be guided by Birgit Ilgener and Alexandra Lohstroh, outdoor gardeners in the Botanical Garden.
Participation fee: €5.00, reduced €3.00.
