"The right apple tree for my garden"

Action and good tips from gardening practice

© Botanischer Garten

An apple tree fulfills many wishes at once: in spring you can look forward to the wonderful blossom, in summer it provides welcome shade and at harvest time you can harvest delicious apples from your own garden. Before doing so, however, you should give some basic thought to how you would like to use the fruit tree and what the conditions in your garden are.

How much space do you have available? How big should and may the tree be? How is the soil in the garden?

Do you want it to provide shade and be able to support a hammock? Or do you just want to use the tree for snacking?
